I met him at warped tour. I waited in line for about 45 minutes and I got worried that he would leave so I went up to the front and paid some guy $20 to let me cut in with him. And seriously it was the best moment of my life. He’s my biggest inspiration and I’ve been hooked for almost 5 years. He was like THE NICEST guy ever too. I told him that he saved my life and he hugged me and was so sweet. And he also kept calling me sweetheart and babe! And then my friend behind me had him say happy birthday to me while she videotaped it and he was totally cool with it. BEST DAY EVER. I’m seeing JM tonight too and i REALLYY hope that I’ll meet him again..

How I did it: Working at Disney World for the semester, I went to a Jack's Mannequin concert in the city one night. It was at a small venue, so of course it was packed. Afterward, everyone cleared out pretty fast. His bus was parked in a lot about a block and a half away. My friend and I sat on the curb of the parking lot for a good hour before the band came out. After another 20 minutes, the security guard announced that Andrew McMahon would be signin… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I waited right outside the venue for about an hour after his show (there were about 25-30 people there also) and he came out the side door with Dr. J about 10 minutes after Bobby Raw and Jay came out. He signed my poster with my name and a lyric I wanted and took our picture (multiple times since he was talking in the first one) and made conversation. It was clear that he genuinely cares about all the fans waiting to meet him. Read how I did it…

How I did it: I volunteered on the concert committee at my school and we had the opportunity to meet Andrew before the show. I was particularly impressed when he quietly stood at the side of the stage to watch the opening act of his concert perform. As she came off the stage, he thanked her for performing and told her how great she was. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I'm a huge fan of Andrew Mcmahon. I love his music, both Jack's Mannequin and Something Corporate, and how he overcame leukemia just makes him and even more incredible person. A lot of the newer songs - Caves, Cellular Phone, The Resolution, etc. - are really emotional and raw, and they're very inspiring and easy to relate to for people, such as myself, who know what fighting a disease is like. He is, without a doubt, my hero. So when I h… Read how I did it…
How I did it: We missed the cut off to get in line to meet him.. so we asked some nice-looking girls if we could get in line with them. We explained our love for Jack's Mannequin and Andrew's previous work in the band Something Corporate. Read how I did it…

First time, I met him at warped tour in the line and he signed my shoe.
Second time, I met him after the show at the social in orlando out by his bus.
Third time, I had some friends who had met him in a bar after the show in orlando, and they ended up drinking and hanging out with everyone in jack’s mannequin. So, they got on the guest list for tampa, and i came along too. I met Jon who plays bass first, and was hanging out with him during the opening acts, then after the show instead of standing in line with the fan girls to meet andrew again, I went to go talk to Jon, knowing that he would be going to meet up with the rest of the band at a bar, and Andrew would end up there too. A few minutes later he was like “let’s go to the bar!” So we did, we ended up at “Uptown’s” and I met Bob and Jay. Bob and I talked for a while. Then Andrew showed up about an hour later. Bob introduced me to Andrew. Andrew remembered me…sort of lol. We sat at a candlelit bar for a while and talked. It was pretty loud and not the best setting for deep conversations. I learned a lot about him though. Random facts: His favorite song to play live is Annie Use Your Telescope. He has an Alice in Wonderland fetish. (He was wearing a belt buckle with the tea party scene and has the same scene tattooed on the inside of his upper arm.) He doesn’t subscribe to any one religion, but he is very spiritual. He has the most unique view on life than anyone I’ve ever met. He’s also an absolute sweetheart and really cares about his fans. (Also, as an interesting side-note, he’s smaller than he looks!) He’s only about 5’8” and pretty skinny. Anyway, they had a bus call right after the bar closed at 2, so we gave hugs goodbye and saw them off.
It was the single greatest moment in my 16 years. I got the setlist from the show and then waited outside the venue for him to come out and then he signed it for me along with my copy of EIT. To anyone who is a fan of SoCo or Jack’s this would be completely worth it. I drove 7 hours to the show and didn’t get back to the hotel til like 2am, then woke up at 6-but I would do that every day of my life if it meant meeting him again :) He wasn’t having a great night since the album leak, but he still had a genuine smile on his face and took pictures and signed autographs and gave hugs to everyone there.
I want to meet andrew SO BAD! I’ve been listening to him for over 4 years now and I love his music even more than I did THEN!!
