I could never do this as a teen, though I tried. Now I have a little daughter with beautiful silky hair that would look SO CUTE in French braids, if only I knew how to make them!

I French braided my hair all the time in high school and college. I could do the braid in reverse as well as standard. A friend got a job in a high-class store and used to come over very early every morning to get her hair braided. I also learned herringbone braid. I’ve done a five-strand braid/weave in my daughter’s hair.
It’s not hard. When you do it on your own hair, you just learn to follow a pattern of finger movements.
