take acting lessons

I love love love improv. It’s very time consuming, though, and has to be done with other people who also have schedules. Not sure how I will continue after this class is over (I’ll be committed most evenings this winter, and that’s when the classes are) but my goodness I love this.

I get completely OUT of myself. It’s wonderful play, good exercise, hard work, and fun.

I am really enjoying my improv class. Tonight the teacher told us to take suggestions for scenes from the group, and to choose the roles/scenarios/settings that made us the most nervous. Then just DIVE into them.

Oh my GOSH that was scary fun.

and went to my first class this week. Good stuff, very odd.

I can feel myself growing.

Since my first entry I took over 10 sessions with Stewart Solomon.

The classes were everything i thought they would be. I feel like i learned so much. I am so glad i decided to start here. The environment was always friendly and constructive in class. I ended up making some great friends. The people i met in class were ambitious, supportive and genuinely talented.

I’m not in the best financial shape right now so I’ve had to take a break from the classes. Once things turn around i’m going to look into classes with a more pretigious teacher.

So for now, this one stays on the list.

I signed up for a class at the local college and it was cancelled (not enough people signed up maybe?) I will try again next semester.

i started taking classes with stewart soloman in aventura. this wednesday is my second class, i have to pick a monologue and recite it in front of class. im not as nervous as i should be, but maybe thats because i havent picked it yet.

last week was my frist class. i had to do an improv routine with another new girl in the class.

Oh my gosh! I really want to become a famous actress and singer. The only thing is that I can’t act. So I want to take lessons.

I took some single classes with my daughter’s teacher in the city. He commutes from the left coast and has some well known actors that he coaches.
I am now taking a weekly class in one of the Rivertowns. It’s been great and I am studying Tom from the Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams

sent me brochures from ACT. I’m very excited.

I finally get out of school, and my list starts filling up with lessons I want to take!

The cantorial soloist at temple suggested to me that acting lessons would help me be more effective in leading services and in preaching, so I’m actively looking for a class. Should be fun!
