I’d never had a Mac of my own until I was recently given a MacBook Pro (which I had been coveting) as a gift from that wonderful man in my life. I am in love with it. In love!
Mark my words, I’m never going back.

How I did it: I got the opportunity to get a MacBook Pro through my work by working some extra hours. That was a spendid deal :-) Spent a couple of days to explore and customize the settings and transfer all my files from my external harddisk. Read how I did it…

No longer needing something heavy-duty, I’ll be switching to a Mac this fall when I get a new computer for school. Prices have come down to something a little more reasonable, and I was duly impressed by the iMac my old university just purchased. Very exciting; I am in the research phases now to decide how much room I’m going to need for storage and that kind of thing.
Last month, after several weeks of tear-filled maddening games with a Windows XP box, I finally plunked down and bought a new MacBook Pro. Computing life has ne’er been sweeter.

three times hurray for achieving this.
I am the proud owner of a macbook pro!

Back then I wanted to set up a home recording studio and wanted a stable system and that meant getting a mac. I had used one at college and of course at various shops. Jaguar was just coming out and I read all I could. It’s the same machine that I bought then and still going strong. I made a lot of modifications to it such as rewiring fans and swapping out hard drives etc. It’s just a joy to use. Going back to a PC would be like drinking lemonade after a glass of champagne.
Can’t say I’ve really “switched” but I have purchased a new Macbook for our home laptop, excited to give it a shot. Still running Windows at work and on the home desktop PC. Perhaps if things go well and we really like the Macbook we’ll eventually get an iMac to replace the dying Windows machine….......who knows
I’ve finally taken the plunge, i’m writing this from my spiffy new Macbook.
Getting everything set up at the moment. I’ll add another entry in a few days and decide whether or not to cross this off my list!

I am SO willing to switch to mac, so the problem is not that I need to get used to the advantages mac offers. Like all of you know, mac is EXPENSIVE, so that is why I can’t call myself a mac user/owner yet.
I have had this goal for the longest time and seriously thought about deleting it a number of times. My good old Dell PC is still working pretty well so I saw no reason to change until university told me that I had to buy a portable computer for the majority of my classes. At first I wanted to get a HP or Dell PC but then the good impression I first had when hearing about Time Machine (blogged in this very website!) was increased with the Leopard keynote, and then iLife08 seemed just awesome, and the iPod promotion coupled with the student discounts on the Apple store were all good arguments and I ended up buying a MacBook. I bought the Macbook for a couple of reasons – didn’t want to get a Pro because I am going to carry it around a lot and I don’t want to suffer too much if it gets stolen or broken. Also, I am not going to do much multimedia work since I am using it mostly for school and finally… because I prefer white to gray or black. ;)
In short! I am very glad of my new Mac&iPod and can not wait for Leopard to come :)
