2009 4Q - ease up; stay curious and creative

but for the first time ever I think I can honestly go into 2010 seeing life as a continuum of (generally good) stuff that happens, some through effort and some by accident – and while I’m inspired by the start of a new year, there’s no deadline on me getting to where I want to be, I’m just living and things will happen when they’re ready.

If I’d only gotten my stationery shopping done a couple of hours later, I could have seen Jordan! So that’s what the queues of screaming kids were all about. An opportunity sorely missed ;)

really zipping past, and I haven’t been keeping up with my entries here.

There is a consistent dribble of creativity in the forms of Christmas-card-making, earring-making and music, but more than that I think I am feeling my base shift towards a more spontaneous/easy-going perspective. I don’t have big concrete goals and deadlines for myself like I used to, and am more likely to spend entire evenings just chilling out with B when I feel tired. I think this is a good thing.

Next week I will be at home all week and free to ease up as much as I like – should be interesting to see whether there are any creative dividends from that. By the time that’s finished the Quarter will be halfway through!

I am making it a project to go every lunchtime this week as the weather is supposed to be fine. The trees are just. so. beautiful!

I’ve noticed under this goal/way of life that it’s a steady flow of constant changes and newness that makes me really happy. I am just at my best when I feel like things are moving along. It can be something as simple as changing my earrings or downloading some new music. To that end I completed the slightly mega task today of swapping ipods with B – his is bigger than mine and he doesn’t use it. So now I have all the new albums I downloaded last week in one place and I can see who is who! That’s really going to make my days and commutes more interesting!

I was looking at diaries for next year and came to the realisation that nothing is going to beat the planner I bought at this tiny handmade bookshop BomoArt when I was in Budaest last autumn.

I e-mailed them and had a lovely e-mail back saying they can make up whatever design I want from the collection and have them sent over (not that I don’t want to go to Budapest but it’s pushing the limits of Stationery Love!)
