I don't know if I'd qualify it as the best month EVER 1 month ago

but it was a lot better than I feared, and there is one Amazing Accomplishment that I did do in the month of October—we made 9 frozen embryos!

I made progress on a lot of other things too, including updating Best Year Yet (which I am calling the 2010 edition) and working towards each of those top priorities.

Karen Today is a good day.

October Wrap Up 1 month ago

The past two months have brought incredible change. Good change, just in massive quantities. I feel like my life is so different that at the beginning of this year… I’m so busy and working 7 days a week that I don’t have any time to slow down and reflect. Moving is over now, new job is going awesome… financial stresses are releasing, so time to refocus. I love how 43T is always here waiting for me, when I’m ready to come back.

G1: Physical Environment: Simplify, declutter, and clean
Finished moving last week. I have an incredible, HUGE, new space… just need to work on getting unpacked and organized now. I’m excited to have so much more room, and determined to have much less material possessions.

G2: Spiritual: Positivity, Nonjudgment (for myself and others). Be fearless. Be authentic.
I’ve learned an incredible amount about myself in the past month at my new job- mostly that I have an odd dichotomy of great self confidence, and great insecurity. I’m amazed at how much I don’t believe in myself, or my own worth and abilities. I need to work on being my biggest fan. I know that’s so incredibly cheesy. Positivity and nonjudgement needs to start with my own attitude towards myself.

G3: Knowledge: Never stop learning.
Still learning a ton at the new job… but need to make a focused plan about how to advance myself and my learning in online biz.

G4: Health/Wellness: Be fit, exercise daily, drink lots of water, be healthy and well nourished.
I’ve been totally ignoring this goal lately… need to take baby steps in making my health a priority- Drink 2 L of water at work, bring fruit for snacks, and take my lunch instead of eating out. Also, need to discover my new gym! Try working out after work 2x per week, or walking with B.

G5: Abundance: Make money online, and independently. Endless abundance is available to me right now.
Doing well making money in the real world… working 7 days a week. Need to work on budgeting… maybe try out mint.com?

G6: Productivity: Wake up early.
It’s kind of awesome how some goals make themselves obsolete by making other massive changes.

G7: Inspiration/Creativity: Be continuously inspired. Cultivate creativity.
Start stream of consciousness writing? Maybe a page a day after work??

G8: Hobbies: Practice photography. Write. Discover new music.
Need to find which box my camera is in! Ooohhh…. discovered a new musician I’m totally in love with- William Fitzsimmons.

G9: Mentors & Teachers: Identify and study. Find people that are already successful in the ways I want to be.
Begin Seth Godin’s books, and finish Crush It.

This past month totally was the best.ever.

Be prepared for my performance review. 1 month ago

Nailed it. Told her my ambitions for the coming year. Asked for her help getting there. Sounds like we’re setting up a plan to get there. Getting help from my GM. Need to stay on this, not let it slip away.

Moving in the direction I'm facing 1 month ago

This week I made some progress on most of my 2010 goals. I have a lot of distractions happening but things seem to be moving in the good direction.

I guess to have entries here that mean anything I’ll need to put my goals here & track progress (like Lisa does). That will be in the future…

For now, just solid progress on several fronts. I feel good, moving in the right direction.

Week of October 25 - 31: 1 month ago

Last week was a distracted week. A friend from 12 years ago called me and we talked on the phone for hours(!). He was my old boyfriend’s closest male friend, and also the son of a woman who I became quite close to when he and I broke up. She and I ended up losing touch when she moved to Cleveland (I knew her when I still lived in Michigan), and I always wanted to find her. She has been a very important person to me, and the fact that he gave me her contact information is a miracle to me. He said she had always been quite fond of me, and this makes me feel very happy, because I always appreciated the time that I spent with her. So, anyway, half of one of my day offs was spent on the phone with him, but it was well worth it!

1. Become a licensed acupuncturistNo studying again. Some scheduling changes this week. I think it’s because of the funding issue. When it looks more possible, I think I’ll have the motivation to study. Also, I found a potential study partner this week.
Study for 1-2 hours on days off. Daily pursue opportunities for additional income on ETC. jobs. Memorize pharmacopaeia.

2. Begin dancing again (get in shape, and go to one dance related event a month)
Qi gong every day for at least 15 minutes. Stretches. PT appointment.Check out dance event calendar.

3. Do what it takes to heal my knee (and other medical problems that may come up).My shoulder is moderately improved!
Eat healthy meals and take my supplements. PT appt.

4. Plan one big trip this year, preferably overseas, and 1-4 short trips.November 8 is on!Request the time off work.

5. Begin and end all conversations on a positive note.Another good week.
Send one note to a friend. Say positive things about people (including myself). Stay close to consistently positive people. Know that I’m a gift and that other people are gifts as well.

6. Clear some financial wreckage, i.e. consolidate student loans, etc. and follow Debtproof living plan.I really like Mint.com! Consolidation app will be a good accomplishment for the month.Keep up with Mint. Clear out a couple of things from the prosperity gua. Fill out consolidation app.

7. Keep my home clean and beautiful. Not so good. Didn’t focus on this at all this week!
Flylady/do routines as soon as I walk in the door.

8. Seek help in finding peace with myself and my family, while staying close to my community.A bit distracted from this goal this week, too.Practice EFT. Ask people to pray for me and my family relationships. 2-3 meetings. Send therapist a note.Make appt.Ask A. about EMDR therapist who works on a sliding scale.

9. Appreciate the opportunity to love, and find a lover who I truly love. This goal is still on hold. I’m enjoying being alone, actually, and my community of friends. And the flirting here and there.:)
Put some money in the new bed fund (feng shui). Prayer. Prayer. Prayer. EFT. Feng shui cure. Borrow book.

10. Be on time for work. Leave an extra 15 minutes commute time. This was good this week.
Keep up with 15 minutes early.

Guidelines
Do the tough stuff first
Stay close to my community
Have fun!

New Paradigm
With each step I take, I step into the divine flow of life. or clearing the wreckage and freeing my qi, all in the name of Truth and Beauty:)

Major Focus

Vision for the week

A good start! 1 month ago

Last weekend I had finished my Best Year Yet goals (for now & into 2010). I was really pleased with them, because the top 10 just jumped out at me.

I spent the beginning of the week re-thinking some of my organisational systems to figure out how to incorporate BYY, GTD (Getting Things Done) & 43T while really concentrating mostly on actually doing things. The setup took some time, but I’m happy with where I landed.

I made progress on ALL of my goals this week. Some were just baby steps, some were more significant, but all moved forward.

I didn’t managed to finish an art project I’d wanted to finish (my bathroom) before my sister arrived – I still have several hours of work left on it – new target is to get it done before my surgery – although probably will, since I really want it done and bending to the floor won’t be possible for weeks after.

Week of October 18-24: 1 month ago

1. Become a licensed acupuncturistI forgot to study again, and my friend, Anne, and I talked about studying together, and I will call her to find out what times work. I did put money in the fund, though! I envisioned that accomplishing this goal could be fun, or rather, being an acupuncturist could be fun.
Study for 1-2 hours on days off. Daily pursue opportunities for additional income on ETC. jobs. Memorize pharmacopaeia.

2. Begin dancing again (get in shape, and go to one dance related event a month)
Qi gong every day for at least 15 minutes. Stretches. PT appointment.

3. *Do what it takes to heal my knee (and other medical problems that may come up).My shoulder is still the focus. My knee feels great, by the way. Also, this week, I have an appointment with a nutritionist.
Eat healthy meals and take my supplements. PT appt.Nutritionist appt.

4. Plan one big trip this year, preferably overseas, and 1-4 short trips.Julie, SweetMK and I talked about spending the day in Milwaukee and set the date (November 8!).
Declutter papers in the travel gua.

5. Begin and end all conversations on a positive note.Another good week. A wonderful year!
Send one note to a friend. Say positive things about people (including myself). Stay close to consistently positive people. Know that I’m a gift and that other people are gifts as well.

6. Clear some financial wreckage, i.e. consolidate student loans, etc. and follow Debtproof living plan.I am using Mint.com now since they’re now able to download my banking information. I like it better than Wesabe. It’s a bit more user-friendly.
Keep up with Mint. Clear out a couple of things from the prosperity gua. Fill out consolidation app.

7. Keep my home clean and beautiful.Kind of blah. I have a renewed commitment to cleaning this week though because a friend wants to come by next weekend.
Flylady/do routines as soon as I walk in the door.

8. Seek help in finding peace with myself and my family, while staying close to my community.Meetings are so important. I went to two.
Practice EFT. Ask people to pray for me and my family relationships. 2-3 meetings. Send therapist a note.Make appt.Ask A. about EMDR therapist who works on a sliding scale.

9. ppreciate the opportunity to love, and find a lover who I truly love.I’m letting this goal lie fallow for awhile. I’m not looking at all. At best, I can borrow another book on relationships.
Put some money in the new bed fund (feng shui). Prayer. Prayer. Prayer. EFT. Feng shui cure. Borrow book.

10. Be on time for work. Leave an extra 15 minutes commute time.Arggh! Ten minutes late one day this week.
Keep up with 15 minutes early.

Career Planning Series (Pt. 1) 1 month ago

The title of tonight’s class was “Who do you think you are?”. It was a bit fluffy, and God knows I’ve beaten that question to death. I know who I am. I know my weaknesses and strengths. I’m confident in being “me”. So in that sense, I was a little disappointed that I didn’t gain much from that segment. But one sentence that our teacher said grabbed me today.

“If I can’t be the best, what the point?” – As she’s talking about people being afraid to jump into a new profession or life path. Yep, that’s me. If I really want to become a semi-pro photographer, even as a small second stream of income, if only to pay for more camera gear, then I need to jump in. I’ve turned down chances to shoot engagements, concerts and receptions because I told myself “I’m not ready.” Well, get ready. Say Yes. Just get started somewhere, it doesn’t have to be perfect.
