SO EXCITED!!!
I booked this sucker all in sections and it still worked out to be affordable!
For whatever reason the expedia.ca had a cheaper flight than .com for an incoming flight to canada, the hotel was cheaper booked on its own website, and i got a 200.00 voucher for a 5 day hotel stay + flight booking our flights on expedia.com that i’ll use when i go to tampa in April… :)
All said, AWESOME!
I could not be more stoked about this trip and its etceteras!
I talked to mom today and she is even excited about the prospect of training on christmas eve, she’s all ‘i’m bringing us a gourmet dinner for the train’. :)
We just have to eat it before the border.
Cool Beans,
and i found us a midnight mass service for when we arrive and before we crash in warm pillowtop beds!
AWESOMENESSFOREVER!!!
This will be the coolest christmas, well…maybe not as fun as mexico but pretty darn dazzling… or grody or both. :)

I know going to vegas with mom is kind of the nerdiest thing ever, and possibly a terrible idea but it also sounds like good fun in a lot of ways. I think i’m psyched about it.
Mostly because the portland trip would be great, but all of the things i want to do down there would be better done in the spring/summer months when its not cold shitty and raining.
So, i am planning 3 nights in VEGAS!
We’ll stay someplace mom-friendly as in not too noisy and not on the strip, we’ll dig it, we’ll see penn and teller and a cirque show and spend a day road tripping to hoover dam or mitchell caverns or something. it will be rad.
It will also be dry and warm things that by end of december i’ll be want of. :)

I bought a great book called 52 trips (for the pacific northwest) and i intend to do a bunch of them, but the most best part is that it has given me all sorts of inspiration for my mom’s visit out here at christmas. She’ll be here ten days and i’ll be working for a bunch of them, but for the ones that i’m NOT working, i’m making a list of things to do and we’re checking that shit out! I am SO excited, and even more excited to do all the planning and not let her in on it until we’re done. She will just get instructions and hugs. Maybe we need a video cam? Or just lots of pictures? I don’t know for sure but if this goes as wonderfully well as i think it just might (thank goodness for planning ahead) i expect a fantastic time!
:)
Now i just have to tell her to stop looking into any kind of details and convince her that i can handle this!

I was pretty excited to go home again, because i was taking my boyfriend to meet everyone else i loved and because it would be fall and romantic and becasue i could avoid the hubbub of christmas homecoming….
Now i’m wondering if i’d rather just send packages and wait to see everyone another time/way.
My mother is coming at christmas
My brother is coming this spring
My sister and I are planning to spend a bit of time together in florida this april
My friends are fabulous and as much as i love them, our friendships transcend distances.
If i go, perhaps i’ll wait until november when things are less busy at work, and before my roommate descends to south america leaving me in charge of a subletter. :S
No certain plans as of yet, however i’m thinking if i hold off… i’m sort of pining for a good excuse to buy fran’s red volksbeattle and drive cross country… perhaps across canada and then back across america. :) good reason… come my way! Perhaps in the form of 2 years in autopilot/distraction and then an awesome job in savanah GA. :) just asking. :)
