I used to be so super flexible when I was younger… and now I can’t even touch my toes without bending my knees!!
I’ve been working out about every other day (and sometimes more often than that) as of late and every day have been working towards this already. Figured I better put it on here as I feel like this will be an important milestone for me as I become a healthier me. :)

For the past week, I’ve started stretching when I get up in the morning, and before I go to bed. I haven’t seen much improvement yet, but at least I don’t ache as much. I didn’t realise just 10 mins twice a day would make a difference. I’m definately keeping this up.

Working on it
I’ve been working on this both in the morning and the evening. It’s amazing how for two or three inches is when you are working on something like this. It’s such a small distance that doesn’t seem like anything in some cases, but it can make all the difference (sort of how just a couple of seconds can make a huge difference in a race).
Maybe this will be the start of my new contortionist career someday…but don’t hold your breath, I’ve got a long way to go to meet that aspiration!!

I’ve NEVER been flexible enough to touch my toes. Even in high school, when I took the Presidential Fitness Test or whatever, I was only in the 1-percentile for the sit and reach. I am not sure how I will ever do it, except for to keep stretching—but stretching HURTS!

It’s a good warm up, a good measure of where you’re at elastically, and generally useful(!) in such exercise circles. :-)

Find me an Orthodox Christian who can’t do it, and I’ll show you one who’s not in church often enough! I also do a pretty good prostration.
