I started working on the baby outfit again, last Monday, and am now more than halfway through a sleeve. I finally seem to be hitting my stride with this, moving faster, and only having a bit of a problem with the tension when I cast on (thanks to taking that knitting break).

Briefly put on hold  — 1 month ago

Late last week, I finally finished the front of the baby’s top that I’m working on… the only trouble is, it’s now getting on my nerves. Too much time sitting in one place, fighting tight wool/stitches (in places), trying to not lose any stitches, and occasionally getting whacked repeatedly in the upper arms by the needles – I’m feeling too antsy for this.

Picking it up again  — 4 months ago

I picked up the peach wool project again, this past Sunday… I’m thinking of pulling apart the blue blanket, and using the wool for a Warm Up America project (or something similar).

The picture above is the pattern I’m working on right now, with the knitting itself; my knitting looks messy in comparison, but it looks better in person (except for the edging – it just doesn’t look quite right to me. This is where my perfectionism comes out; I’ve strongly resisted pulling it apart and starting again. That said, at the moment, I don’t think it would look much better if I did. ;) )

I wanna crochet!  — 6 months ago

I’ve been really terrible about making any progress with this, and now ever since my friend taught me how to crochet, that’s all I want to do. I’m so much better at it, and I swear it seems MUCH faster than knitting.

I have one blanket and one scarf I started knitting, and I learned how to knit about a year and a half ago. I only learned to crochet a little over a month ago and I’m already on scarf number 5.

Apparently I was meant to crochet, not knit.

Finish Anything!  — 9 months ago

I have the worst habit of starting a project that looks interesting and then finding something else I want to do. Just horrible! It’s not bad to have a couple projects going on at one time but when you have about 30 things going it’s kind of silly! So, my goal is to finish up a little baby jacket even though the kid I have been knitting it for has outgrown it. Oh Well!

Evil blanket  — 11 months ago

I started a lap blanket for my father 4 years ago. He knows about it and can’t wait to get it which just makes me feel that much more guilty! It might be 1/8 of the way complete… pittiful. My goal is to knit one row a day… sounds like nothing… but if I had been doing this all along it might be done by now :-D Wish me luck!

Ok…I have finished my scrap afghan and my fluffy scarf. All I have left from the list I made is a wave afghan.

But…I started some more projects. >.< So, new list.

1) Wave afghan
2) Sweater (part of a different Thing)
3) Socks (almost done with both)

Finished the sock already!

A new project  — 1 year ago

The blanket is on hold for now. I hadn’t worked on it much since last Spring, but I had every intention of picking it back up and finishing it.. other things just got in the way. When I went back to it, my yarn and needles were as I’d left them, but the pattern is missing; I have no idea where it is, but I’ll keep looking.

I started another project last night. It’s a pretty simple pattern, but the yarn is a little fiddly to work with.

Ok…see, I finished my charity blanket, which was the 63 square afghan that seems so popular. Only problem is…it’s really pretty. And I want to keep it…

So, instead of keeping my scrap blanket (which is also pretty), I guess that’s my donation. I’m also going to go through some of my old scarves, to donate some and cannibalize others for the scrap blanket.

1) Scrap (charity) blanket (1/2 done)
2) Wave blanket (barely started)
3) fluffy scarf (about 2 inches done)

The problem with this goal is hat now I have so much I want to make! It doesn’t help that I found a calendar sale, about 3 pattern-a-day calendars.

In my last entry  — 1 year ago

I said I picked up my knitting and actually got a little done, but that little was all I did then. Over the weekend, I actually did some real knitting and got something done.

I almost want to make this my next challenge goal, but I don’t know what my punishment would be, and since this is the first thing I’ve ever knitted, I honestly don’t know how long I would need to complete the task.

At least I’m motivating myself to do it though. That’s something.
