thursday morning 3 years ago

soaked and splashing down the street while battling with a broken umbrella that was far more trouble than it was worth
a couple stopped me and handed me the prettiest yellow rose and wished me a happy day :)
now its sitting on my table reminding me that even the soggiest days can brighten up

aaaaaaw!!!! 3 years ago

i saw the lovliest little thing today :)
there i was sitting having some lunch in waterstones and flicking through stupidly expensive arty books i cant afford, when i someone caught my eye in the downstairs cafe?
he was lurking away behind a piller and looking more than a little shifty twirling a napkin with shakey hands :S
but the more he twirlled it around and ripped a little bit here… fanned out a little bit there… it turned into a very sweet paper napkin rose :D
he then shuffled over and presented it to the girl working behind the counter!
Aaaaaaaaaaaw!
they both looked a little embaressed but i hope he asked her out :)

someone wrote me a poem! 3 years ago

actually a stranger wrote me a poem :D
he was a very nice stranger, a tourist in fact. he was at the same table as my sis and i on Thursday night we chatted for a while about touristy stuff and music and then he scribbled me this little poem, just for a bit of a larf :D

and it did make me laugh! :P

Hidden Art 3 years ago

confession…
_this happened last week but i’d forgotten all about this goal!
still better late than never?_ :D

Hidden Art is one of my very favorite things its even on my 100 things list

so last week…

i was walking down a street in Glasgow that i wouldnt normaly.
about half way home i just happened to look across the road and there was this garden that ive never seen before?
it was just sitting there inbetween some tenaments. it definatly wasnt new, the grass was tall, it was fenced off with some rusty old railings and there was a beautiful gnarled tree right in the middle.
but what really caught my attention was on the side of one of the buildings where these huge pieces of art work!?

so, i crossed the road to take a better look. the gate was open and i took that as an invitation to step inside
i assume this is what they wanted people to do :)
what can i say?
the art work was fab but even more special because i came across it by accident and looking out at the street from inside no one else seemed to notice it? i felt quite invisible… which was nice :)

thats the first piece above, i’ll post the other two pics below

the first Spring daisy in my garden :) 3 years ago

thats it just taking a nap at the end of, what i imagine, must have been quite an exahusting day for such a little flower
it was very windy

today has been the lovliest of springy days!
i saw a big fat bumble bee hovering down the road
a pigeon doing a balancing act on the rim of a coffee cup at an outside cafe
it was very talented :)
and even the rain seemed more like a spring shower that would result in a rainbow rather than the usual drenched to the core deluge

it's snoooooowing!! *<:D 3 years ago

hurray, finally!
it started about an hour ago and already theres a lovely thick blanket
soon as i saw that it was lying i put my warmest toggs on and ran out for a wander, just round the block and the gardens. it’s so beautiful, wish i’d remembered my camera.
it’s all the little things you forget about like the snapping sound the snow makes as your walking and the rustling as it sprinkles through the leaves on the bushes. i know im a sap but i felt so happy i thought i might throw up ;D
made sure i did all the snowy day musts.
dancing, sliding along leaving swooshing footprints, sticking my tounge out, writing messages and smilie faces on peoples windscreens, avoiding children and therefore a vicious snowball fight and of course finding a patch that no one else has walked on yet
[sigh] it is all good in my little world at the moment :)

its the end of October 4 years ago

and ive just seen a butterfly in my garden?
i dont understand havn’t they all migrated or, ahem, gone to that big meddow in the sky?
well, regardless of the scary implications of a butterfly this out of season, it was a lovely treat to see it
:)

walking down the street today
i saw that someone had made a lovely job of sweeping there front steps clear of leaves
and had made a big pile of them at the side of the road… i sence an evil plan! ::arch eyebrow:: ;)
so, looked around.
checked i was alone.
and….
wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

my jeans got covered in mulch and bits of bugs and i looked like a mingchild1^ for the rest of the afternoon
but it was worth it! :D

1^ nod to absnasm :)
