This year has been my “annus horribilis” and I recently spent a week with my sister. It wasn’t quite what I planned when I first put this goal on my list, but at the moment a quiet week together is all we could manage and it was like instant therapy.
A week of movies, shopping, dining out, quiet days just talking for hours and many long nights just sitting up and laughing was the best medicine I could possibly hope for.
Although I have now ticked this goal off as “done” it is something that will always be a goal for me – to plan time away with her :)

My sister is the one person who has had the biggest influence on my life. She is ten years older than me, and since my mother passed away over 15 years ago…..she has been the person I look to for guidance the most.
Three years ago we went to the US together for a month. We did a “Thelma and Louise” driving thru several southern states. We had not spend this much time together since she left home when I was only 8 years old. It was just a wonderful time for us both. Every single day we talked and laughed from first thing in the morning, till well into the night.
I’d love to plan another holiday with her, it wouldn’t really matter where we travelled to, it’s just the experience that we would both enjoy :)
