I wanted to research the word "croustille" for potato chip. 3 years ago

Because of this I added an empty sack to my hoard.

Now I’m listening to “The Infinite Mind” on the topic of compulsive hoarding.

One of the interesting expressions in Quebecois French, or perhaps also used in Standard or Proper Parisian French, was “Nous avons mise au point cette recette” for “We’ve crafted this recipe.”

Now that I’ve recorded this, I can discard the empty sack.

Out of the dictionary today I learned Przewalski's Horse 3 years ago

Przewalski’s Horse is said to be extinct in the wild.

Amy A -who has wonderful socks- taught me “pronoia.” It’s the antidote to paranoia. It’s when you adopt optimism as a response to life’s occurences, rather than fear and cynicism.

Can you share some examples of a lexeme? 3 years ago

lexeme, n. a basic lexical unit of a language, consisting of one word or several words, considred as an abstract unit, and applied to a family of words related by form or meaning.

Would ‘laze’ or ‘sloth’ be a lexeme? Is ‘hard to say’ a lexeme? Why or why not?

ubiquitous 3 years ago

(from an entry by Coração Vagabundo)

*Being or seeming to be everywhere at the same time

I’m sure I can work this in somewhere…

Magnanimous 3 years ago

Courageously noble in mind and heart.
Generous in forgiving; eschewing resentment or revenge; unselfish.

I have heard it used it sentences before and I recently read it in an entry so now I’m going to try and use it in conversation…and what on Earth does eschewing mean?

acquiescence. 3 years ago

learnt this word from an entry I read by Uncle Enore, Its the act of implying consent by remaining silent. I’m so going to find a way to work this into a sentence tommorrow.
