... it’s not very fancy, but it’s under $100 and considering my technique in getting on and off of a horse… it’s probably a good match. It’s safe, and it fits both of the intended victims at our barn, so I’m excited!

How I did it: I just went to a nearest hippodrome and asked if i could get a lesson in riding horse. I bought some apples, fed beautiful horses they have there, so i get to know them, and got there the second day and brought various candies for the trainer. And it was worth it! Read how I did it…
How I did it: Over time when I was younger. Living on the farm has its perks, as does being around ranchers who raise and break horses for a living. I learned over time, little by little, until I was fully comfortable being in and around horses. They're magnificent animals, and I truly do miss being around them now. Riding one in the country in an open field is really the way to go. Read how I did it…
How I did it: The first time on a horse was a trail ride. It went well until 2 horses fell and I was thrown. I decided to take lessons in Western Riding, found a reputable stable and am still going 2 times a week to ride. I am in training for my level 4 exam as we speak. Riding did wonders for me when I was going through a burn-out from work. The fresh air, exercise, and time with the horses was wonderfully calming. … Read how I did it…

How I did it: I chose a good classic english horseback riding school and started to take once a week lessons. In the beginning I was really afraid and couldn't do a thing. Some days I felt like shit! Then I got a new instructor, and she's tough but really cool and I started progressing a lot, and in so little time I started to take small jumps and control the horse better. How I did it: I took a lesson for a few hours at a therapeutic riding stable. It wasn't intense or anything. It was just my boyfriend and I learning from the ownder. But I can lead a horse. I also learned how to trot, canter and jump/walk over a fence. The basics. Read how I did it…

Jennifer invited me to ride Litvok, and I didn’t go. I’d really like to go see him as he used to be our race horse until his retirement… then we gave him to Jennifer, and she’s been teaching him about being a riding horse since then. I wouldn’t mind going with Jennifer, but her know-it-all cousin was going too, and then they wanted to take me to the place where they take lessons and introduce me to someone named Carlos… and I kind of wimped out. Well, no “kind of” about it, I officially wimped out. Next week, I need to just suck it up and go. I’ve been wanting to learn since I was a little girl, so I need to get over myself and just be okay with looking like a beginner for a while.

for my birthday i went horseriding. it was so fun, but harder than i expected! I learnt to trot, although it isn’t perfect yet, in a couple more lessons i think i will get the hang of it, hopefully!
It was a little nervewracking but turned out I knew the person who was taking us out and they got me on a mellow and nice horse.
today i got the number of a local riding school and i’m going to call them tomorrow for times and prices
its something i’ve always wanted to do and never got round to, i’ve just turned 33 and have decided to do some things for me and not others, that may sound selfish but i have spent too mny years putting everyone else before me and its time i was top of the list instead of an add on

Gonna do this soon I think; just found someone offering affordable lessons in my area.

Say what you will, but this is just another one of those things that I want to learn to do, mostly for the sake of learning it. It’ll be nice in my life to be able to hop on a horse and go for a ride when someone offers. If I ever move to the countryside, I can’t envision any better, eco-friendly-er way to get around. Plus, what woman doesn’t want to be swept away on horseback?
