knit a poncho

Well the knitting bug only bit for about four months and I never did anything more complicated than a square. Still, I’m glad I know the basics and may pick it up in the future.

I have changed my mind on the type of poncho to make for one reason only – I am skint and I already have the wool to make this one so don’t have to spend a load of money buying more wool. It’s a pretty cool poncho too. Have started knitting already.

I simply love this poncho from the beautiful Loop-d-Loop book – I want to knit this. But being a relatively new knitter am not sure if it will be too difficult?

I used the pattern for ‘Cape Mod’ in Stitch ‘n’ Bitch but left out the danging pom poms and used only red fringe instead of red and purple. I started on Thursday evening and barely stopped til I finished it last night! The neck turned out bigger than I had expected, but it is very cozy and warm!
