own a Victorian house

Our home is only ten years old, but it was built using a Victorian plan, giving us style but no big reno projects. The living rooom has a strange shape, though, so our contempoary furniture doesn’t fit. We have a good excuse to collect some antiques now.

I don’t have enough money in the bank to pursue this goal seriously right now, so I’m moving it to the “given up” column.

Here’s another abacus-like thing in Eureka, though.

You know those abacus-like things they have at the top of the most exciting and colorful Victorian houses? I want one of those. I’d like it to be a real, working abacus. Or, better than that, a mechanically powered abacus that always shows the current time.
