I also managed to finish up three small studies… I’ve added a new section to my site for these since they’re not themed like the other works. They’re quick one hour paintings of various butterflies that I’ve been using as my models. I’m thinking I may need to start framing new flies again soon… also, I’ll need to buy more small canvases.

I suppose I’ll call this done. :)

The large 18”x24” piece is done and waiting to be shipped up to the gallery (unless it sells before then). For those of you interested, you can cruise by my portfolio site to take a peek in better detail:

But hey, it doesn’t say what month specifically I need all of this done by so I’ll pretend we’re talking about September now. ;) I’ve got to get about 10-20 more pieces done by December, so I’ll be keeping good and busy in no time.
Here’s an update on the latest piece. Baby steps.

So instead, how about the one small painting and one large 18”x24”?? Well that’s what we’re doing. I highly doubt that I can get it done before the end of the month, but it’ll at least be started. :)
In this one, I really want the twisted sheets to look a bit like water. It should be really tranquil and somewhat surreal (not Dali or anything, just implying a bit of a dreamlike situation).

I talked with the gallery in NC and it sounds like we are all systems go for this winter. The owner will actually be in Winter Park for the holidays and said he’d be happy to swing down to Melbourne to pick up the work before he leaves to go back home. That would save $$ on shipping for sure. He’s looking for 6-8 paintings total for an official unveiling of my work. This I can do. I still need to find something else to shoot for. A show or any sort for this fall/winter. Getting the consignment thing is good, but I really want another occasion to make and send out postcards.
Anyhow, truth be told, this entry was supposed to announce one more painting done and off my list. It’s called Congregation and it measure 6”x12” and is priced at a very affordable $195.
