How to join the air force"Military life wasn't for me, but I learned so much from my experiences (good and bad) and life long friends made it all worth it."
How I did it: The first step is talking to a recruiter and getting the process in gear. You will be filling out paperwork. A LOT of paperwork. You will also be going to your closest MEPS (Military Entrance Processing Station), probably more than once. You will go to the MEPS to take your ASVAB, get your physical, swear in, and ship out. _joy_ “Goals are dreams with deadlines.” -Diana Hunt
How I did it: I talked to a recruiter, at the time had to gain a little weight because I was under weight, & I started working out to prepare my body for basic training. I studied ranks & insignias & talked to others older & wiser than me who had been in the military - listened to their advice. Read how I did it…

Do something with my life and serve my country. It’ll help me grow as a person.
I am interested in the AF Reserves. I have a BA in Bio was looking into being a medical laboratory officer. I did meet with a recruiter once (active duty b/c that’s what I wanted at the time) and unfortunately he didn’t know about this particular MOS. The AF website makes it seem like those going into the medical profession do a 4 week training only, not basic for easier transitioning. Does anyone have any information?

I’ll say it was worth it, but it wasn’t cake. I’ve never been more excited about almost being finished with something in my life! Get all the facts and make a solid, responsible decision!
I want to join the Air Force because I think it will give my life direction. My grandfather did it and I think I need structure in my life.
dlyon is ok
I’ve been involved in this Veitnam Wall for soldiers who died in Florida.. As i was going this presentation and little kid asked me after telling him all about my military family “Are you going to join the army too?” I said no because I’ve never wanted to do that.. I didn’t think it was for me. then i started thinking more and more about it.
A veitnam vet came to speak to my class he had amazing stories and amazing passion and pride for what hes done and what his fellow soldiers have done. He made me want to be apart of those men and women of honor and prestige. The best of the best. I want to serve my country through thick and thin. I want to do this.
