I had just finished my ninth grade year of school when I realized what a great improvement occurred in my vocabulary, spelling, and grammar.
It was all due to the grammar warm-ups my teacher made us do before she started teaching. Eventually, I ended up correcting grammar with my friends, signs, anything.
The best thing you can do, is learn what the rules of proper grammar then read. Read as much as you can so you can practice seeing proper grammar.

systematic improvement in spelling and grammar

No matter what you do, being able to write well is so important! The biggest piece of advice I have for anyone who wants to improve their writing is to READ. READ READ READ READ everything-books, magazines, newspapers. You pick up vocabulary from context and rarely have to resort to a dictionary. You learn grammar and spelling from seeing words used correctly over and over. When I took the SAT many years ago, they warned us against picking answers on grammar questions that “sounded right” - but I could absolutely do that because I’d read enough that I knew what correct grammar looked and sounded like even though I might not have been able to explain why one choice was correct.
