well, since Mrs. Betty Bitch Buick broke down for good yesterday morning, I pretty much have to complete this goal really soon.
hopefully I can find something that runs well (er, better than my old buick, at least) for under $1600… because that’s all I have saved right now.

My philosophy is one I obtained from a real used car salesman. You should always drive cars into the ground because you will always lose money on trade-in. Unless you really need it, try to deal with your clunker as long as possible.
Until, that is, it goes up in flames while you are driving it. Apparently some of my plug wires ended up too close to the exhaust manifold and melted through – so much for the car. My old friend was a 1991 Isuzu Rodeo and it served me well. Got $100 for it from some sketchy tow truck guy.
I stopped in Knoxville, TN after I sold the Isuzu, not meaning to buy a car. Carmax would have me think otherwise, and I drove away with a 2005 Taurus with sunroof and non-replaceable radio (argh). A bit of a change, but I get WAAAY better fuel economy and the option to use E85 if it ever shows up the East.
Happy buying.

I had a 93 Oldsmobile Regency 98 that had close to 300,000 miles on it. It only had 80,000 mines when we got it three years ago. :P
It was mostly reliable, but because it was old we had to work on it a lot. I replaced the water pump, harmonic balancer, timing chain, fuel pump, radiator, and battery in the last 6 months of it’s ltime with us. The transmission finally went and it would have been $800 for a rebuilt transmission to replace it. #uck that!
Instead of putting more money into the Olds, I decided to go $10,000 in debt. I bought an awesome 2004 Hayundai Sonata with just 50,000 miles on it, a sunroof and a damn sexy woodgrain interior.
I donated the old car to charity, and when you get a new car I suggest you do the same. I did kars4kids, but there are dozens of charities to choose from. It doesn’t matter if your car runs or not. They will come take it away at no charge to you. You’ll also get a big tax deduction!
I am so much happier now. :D

I did it! I got me a new car. Yes, it’s a Ford, but it’s a new ford. Not new-to-me, but NEW. Like, new car smell, odometer with next to no miles, really shiny, knowing that my ass has been the only ass in the driver’s seat. Happy Kimmie! It’s a blue car. And it’s name, by the way, is Blue.

the current car i own is a mini van that has a torn CV boot (whatever that means), a leaking power stearing pump, a gas gauge that doesnt work ( use the trip odometer to track how much gas i ahve left), brake lights tha wont go off ulness i take the fuze out (slot number 15!), and has some sort of problem where if i drive it more than 50 miles in a day then does a like sputtering thing at lights or when idling…..(i dunno what that is….) i think i need a new car. ...
