goodness! i added this HOW LONG AGO? and i still haven’t even really made hardly an attempt. i have to get up at 5am this friday morning for our flight. maybe i’ll will try it then :)
How to get up early just to watch the sun rise

How I did it: We came back from the party, at 2.00 AM, since it was the last day of summer break, we decided to see the sunrise.
it was all good, until like at 4.00 it got deadly cold.
then, after an hour or so, we all became really sleepy.
but we still decided to wait a bit..
it became clear at like 6.00, and the freaking sun wudnt come out.
after an hour of waiting, we saw that the skyline is nOT clear. and the sun is hiding behind a thick cloud.
We all fell asleep on the beach..
when we woke up it was already up and shining, and not pretty at all!!!!!!!!!
the best part was to come back to my bed and sleep late in the morning.
Lessons & tips: Be sure iit wont be cloudy!!!

I attempted this last weekend, but sadly after staying up all night long I never got to see the amazing sunrise I was expecting. The only thing that happened was the sky getting brighter.. no burst of colors. However, I’m still glad I stayed out all night long. I had an amazing night, and I am only inspired to try and see it at another time and date.

I woke up early the last morning of our honeymoon in the Great Smoky Mountains. We had a cabin, complete with every amenity you could imagine, that also had a spectacular view of the Smokies. My husband preferred sleep to a sunrise, so I went out on the deck and watched the sun rise and the smoke lift off the mountains. It was fall and the trees in the mountains were all changing colors. I videotaped it so he could see it later. It was breathtaking.

The first time I ever did this, I was on the phone with the first boy I truly cared about.
This past summer, I did this many times with friends. It’s always amazing, but I especially love the gray-blue of the sky right before the sun rises.
