I think I’m finally out of the “short hair” category and getting back to “medium length”. Totally feeling better about how it looks. Now I just need to be patient and wait until it gets longer. I feel like it is taking a lot longer than the first time though.

I am in this cycle of letting my hair grow long and then I get either frustrated or bored with it and grow impatient and cut it, donating it to Locks of Love and it goes back to being really short. My hair is currently pretty short (too short for a ponytail) and I am now growing it back out. I want to grow my hair REALLY long, though. The longest my hair has been, as far as I can remember, is just past where a bra strap would lay. I want it longer. Who knows, maybe this time it will happen. ^_~

I did it in my late 20s and early 30s. I am in my 40s now.

I’ve been alternately growing and cutting my hair for about 8 years, when I first cut it off. To be frank, I completely lack the ability to style my hair, so I initially cut it off so I wouldn’t have to style it. It was also incredibly damaged, so I don’t regret the initial cut. But I don’t think I carry short hair off well, and want to grow it again. (I have also discovered such things as flat irons and mousse.)
The last time I cut it off was a year ago. I got it cut super-short, and even now it’s not even chin-length. I think it’s past the painful stage, where everyone thinks you just don’t have the sense to get a haircut; it is starting to look at least ok.
I expect it will take another year before I really feel comfortable with my hair, and probably another year after that before I can call it long. I don’t know how long “really long” is for me, but I doubt it’ll ever get past chest-length.

i heard that you should cut your hair when the moon is waxing so that it may grow more. A waning moon would prevent the hair from growing as normally. I have done this. I have added about 5 minches of hair in the past 10 months or so. It was at ear length. It is now at shoulder blade length!
