I tried to run today in the park. I mean, if the pain is gone I don’t need to call right? If it is indeed ‘shin splints’ then the advice will be take plenty of rest. Which would be bloody stupid considering I have walked/run for no more than three months and taken seven months of rest after that!

So today. I walked to the park and started running for a short while when I got there. That was okay. My shins were tingling a little. Then I walked a bit and then ran again. At which point the tingling turned into a bit of pain. Not good.

My strategy now: to try this a few times to see if it is not just my body’s uneasiness for getting back in the action again. And otherwise, sigh, I will have to call the therapist. In the mean time I will also rub a bit of Badger on my shins. You never know, it might do some good. If not, my skin will thank me for it. ;-)

that specialize in running, two separate ones, advised me to go see a physiotherapist. They both gave me a name and address for one. Now I´m wondering if my insurance requires me to get a note thingy from the gp first. Probably not. Didn´t need one for the acupuncturist last year. So I´ll probably just call one of them. Once they get back from New York of course, because apparently every runner in the world was in New York last weekend.
