Cumpleaños feliz! Espero que tuviste un día fabuloso (that there’s to help you with your Spanish goal.) If foreign language is one of the options you can take towards your Bachelor’s Degree, you should definitely sign up for a Spanish class. I just took a refresher course (after 7 years of not speaking Spanish) and I couldn’t believe how much of it came back to me.

This 43er holds a special place in my heart. She once wrote to me privately to tell me that I’m the reason she comes on 43Things so she can see what I’ve been up to, because I inspire her. I was very flattered by this of course, but also felt guilty that I wasn’t living up to being an inspiration to others in my own mind. I knew that people read what we write here and hopefully gain insight from it, but it was Mariah who made it really hit home for me. I of course find her to be inspiring as well, and really admire her for coming out of her shell to share that with me. That’s why I wanted to make her birthday such a special day today for her. Here are my wishes for her for the coming year:
May she find the courage to speak her mind more often, as well as to forgive others (especially her brother and her dad). May she focus on her studies but also make time to enjoy herself (possibly by learning to Krump). And may she recognize her accomplishments regularly and take pride in them, as I take pride in her.
