I kind of got onto the incubus bandwagon a little late. I have their last four albums, including their latest, but nothing before that. However, I love this band and have yet to come across a song I don’t like. Here is the real kick in the nuts though…they were in Toronto two days, ago, and I found out yesterday. So crap. Maybe I will get lucky and they will come to London. Not like they played a huge venue in T.O., in fact, I am pretty sure it was a more intimate venue. Now the John Labatt Centre, can hold 9100 or so for a hockey game, has an “intimate” concert layout which seats only 5000 or so, or they can go full-blown, balls out and take the whole arena.
That would just rock.
Here’s hoping.
How to see incubus in concert
How I did it: Incubus came to my town twice when I was in high school (2 years in a row), but I was unable to go both times. Then, when I finally had the means to make it to a concert, they decided not to come East of the Mississippi (I used to live in VIrignia). Finally, this year, I found out they were touring again, but this summer I moved to Tennessee, and the closest venue they were visiting was 4 hours away. However, they were coming within 2 hours of my parents' house, so I decided to go back to VA for a week to see the band and my parents, as well as attend a going away party for my friend who joined the army. It was totally worth the wait!
Lessons & tips: Be persistent. If you really want to see them, save your money, and just go to the nearest concert. I think their tour runs into Sept or Oct of this year, so you may still be able to catch them! Livenation/Ticketmaster has a tendency to rip you off with extra ticket fees and whatnot, but there's really no other way to get tickets for a big band. Therefore, I bought my tickets from them. It was about $30 for lawn tickets. I'd like to go again and see them up close.
