I took another live yoga class this weekend, and felt really calm and relaxed afterwards. 4 months ago
After trying yoga sessions online and on dvd, I took my first live yoga class today at the gym (1 hr). Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it to the Vinyasa yoga class, so I had to take the Hatha yoga class. It was definitely calming. I enjoyed learning more poses, and will probably try a Vinyasa class later this week or next week. 5 months ago
How I did it: My school was advertising private yoga classes, and it was something I really wanted to sign up for. I didn't know anyone there. I met a bunch of new people, learned some awesome yoga exercises which I can still do at home and actually became a little more relaxed.
It's true, yoga really does help. The classes aren't expensive and it really is worth it! Read how I did it… 5 months ago
In the park and ended up having pic in a news article about it. It was great. Will def try again on a regular basis. 7 months ago
If you have a great teacher, and good people in the class, then this is great. Know what you want ahead of time. I was lucky, and my first yoga teacher was very good.
If you are a guy, then this is difficult. Most yoga classes are female, often female only. While some guys might think this sounds great, it is often difficult in practice. Again, my first teacher knew how to handle this.
Generally, stay away from classes where people are TOO thin. Some studios seem to be a haven for anorexics.
If you get a chance to visit Kripalu in Massachusetts, then do so. It is great! (And, it welcomes all people.) 8 months ago
