Charmbracelet25 just figrued out how to change my status after all this time.
And promptly ran to the bathroom to cry.

i am new at my job and want to be better at it, more efficient, if you will. i love what i do ( secretarial / office work) and want to find ways to better my job and all it entitles. my bosses are wonderful people and i am very lucky to be in the position i am in. i just want to do all i can, everyday and know that i put fourth my best effort.
Sometimes, being a better employee means learning to say “no” to things you’re being asked to do.
I’m a pretty damn good employee, but i think i can really kick it up a bit and start taking on more and just do a really excellent job. Perhaps I’d be up for a raise soon, I’ll hit my one year mark next month and I’ve already had extremely positive feedback. I know when I fuck up more than anyone, I can’t stand it and it’s hard to let go. I like that comfortable feeling of a job well done and all bases covered.
Being a better employee just means working your ass off harder for the same pay. I’m a hard working person with a lot of integrity (for instance I would never lie, steal, or cheat my employer). However, I find the employer-employee relationship to be unbalanced and in most cases, the employer is looking to make as much money off your time and effort as possible while paying you as little as possible. (DUH) Perhaps in my field, social services, this is even more so because everyone is truly working on a tight budget. But I’ve been consistently undervalued and underpaid by employers and then asked to do more, do someone else’s job, work weekends etc. for the same pay. Sorry but… NO. So in this spirit I have decided to begin working for myself. I know it’ll be hard and all of the responsibility (collecting fees, paperwork, taxes) will fall on me… but at least I’ll be getting paid what I’m worth…
I WORK AT A CALL CENTER AS A CUSTOMER SUPPORT ADGENT, AND I LOVE MY JOB IT FITS IN PERFECTLY WITH MY LIFESTYLE. I CAN SLEEP IN AND WORK THE CLOSING SHIFT. IT IS PHYSICALLY UNDEMANDING, SO I HAVE ENERGY TO CLEAN MY HOUSE AND RUN ERRANDS WHEN I GET HOME. I LOVE THE PEOPLE I WORK WITH. THERE IS AN EXTREMLY LIBERAL DRESS CODE, MEANING I CAN HAVE ANY COLOR HAIR I WANT, ANY PIERCINGS, I CAN WEAR MY LEATHER PANTS AND MY TRIPP PANTS TO WORK, AND I CAN WEAR ANY KIND OF SHOES I WANT (OPEN TOE, STILLETOS, KNEE HIGH BOOTS, PLATFORM SHOES, FLIP FLOPS) BECAUSE THERE ARE NO HAZZARDS AND I DONT HAVE TO STAND, I CAN EVEN CATCH A CATNAP IF THE CALLS ARE SLOW ENOUGH. I CANMAKE POSTS ON THE INTERNET, AND IT IS THE HIGHEST PAYING JOB I CAN GET IN TOWN WITHOUT SOME KIND OF TRAINING OR DEGREE. I LOVE IT. THAT IS WHY I WANT TO BE A GOOD EMPLOYEE. I FIGURE THAT IF I MAKE MYSELF AN ASSET TO THIS PLACE THEY WILL BE LESS LIKLEY TO LET ME GO OR WATCH ME TO CLOSLEY. I WANT TO KEEP THIS JOB.
SO I WILL:
1.GET MY STATISTICS UP.
2.TAKE SHORTER BREAKS
3.GET BACK FROM LUNCH ON SCHEDULE
4.CLOCK IN ON TIME
5.STAY WORK APPROPRIATEI WILL MAKE FURTHER POSTS ON THIS GOAL SOON. WISH ME LUCK 43 THINGS
It turns out I was a good employee, maybe not as good as I could have been but they liked me and wanted me back so I guess I was just having a crisis of confidence. I shouldn’t worry about this shit so much.
I finished this boring report about legislation today, this makes me very happy and gets me closer to my goal of being a usefull employee here! Go me!
Now if I can just curb all this blogging from work I’ll be good to go…
I need to learn more about my accounts, apply myself better, manage my time more efficiently, concentrate more (I get distracted very easily!), and just do a little extra.
