It’s funny, being the son of a chef, I would think that I would have at least tried one oyster in my life, but I actually never have. I think it’s unfortunate, myself, and I want to remedy this.
I’d actually really like to try them in different situations, like fried or whatever. Sounds like they’d be really nice. Hmm, garlic oysters…
Tried them for the first time the other day there, raw with some lemon juice. I love em. Apart from getting bits of shell in there. Then I feel like I’m gonna throw up. I hate finding unexpectedly hard things in my food. But if I make sure there isn’t any shell in there then wow, lovely, lovely things.
I’ve actually just eaten a few about half an hour ago and I can still taste them. So yummy :D
ugh. any shelled animal is pretty gross to eat. they can’t take out the organs or there’d be nothing there, and i’m not into green liquid squirting all over. ew. but if you want to eat them, make sure they’re cooked first! D:
it wasnt as good as i exoected it to be.. it was ok .. i guess.. if you eat it with crackers and lemon juice!! lol
and stabbed the poor things and it was entirely gross! The feeling of the tines of my fork going through each layers… ick… and besides they really look and have the size of something on the male anatomy… ick, gross, yuk.
I have to be in the mood for this, not something I crave daily, but wow are they good. My first taste was at a really nice seafood restaurant, then I was hooked. They were a whole lot better than I had imagined. My next goal is to harvest some around the seattle area, shuck and eat it on the spot!
i really like having oysters once in a while, but i almost kill myself every time i try to open them. even with a special oyster-knife it’s still difficult. i recommend visiting an oyster-farm in cancale, france, and the oyster sale in december at the galeries lafayette in berlin (2 oysters for 1 euro)!
