I used to be able to run about 2 miles before soccer practice. So after soccer practice some days, I probably ran at least 3 miles. I haven’t really excersized in a few months. :( I want to keep in shape over the winter for next soccer season which starts in the spring, so my goal is to run 5 miles without stopping.

I’ve run a mile a day 2 days in a row, which is a start. My time was 10 minutes, and then 9 and 1/2 minutes. Hopefully it wont take too long to get back in shape. :)

I have been finding my 2.5. mile run a bit short so I decided to give myself a challenge.
I started by trying a 3.3 mile run which went well.
Yesterday I did a 3.8 mile run which was quite hard for me, so I’m going to do that a few times until I feel more comfortable with it. I’m also going to do some shorter runs to build up my speed.

I want to be able to run a marathon in 5 years so running 5 miles without stopping sees a good short term goal.

This is not happening. I’ve had this goal up for quite a long time, and still haven’t done anything about it. I’m fine with not being able to run 5 miles! This just isn’t important to me anymore. So I am not unhappy about giving it up!



I did it! 17 months ago

I killed this goal today! I ran a 5 mile road race with “1400 of my closest friends.” A respectable 48 minutes. Is a marathon next, maybe even before I turn 50?

There’s a big honkin’ road race on Sunday. Maybe I’ll go for it.

By the end of summer I’ll be able to run 5 miles without stopping.

I am going to set a goal of running 5 miles outside this summer. I can do it on the treadmill—but outside is a whole different story. I used to smoke and am trying to live a healthier life for my kids.



First 5K Road Race 18 months ago

I did a flat course in about 29:35. That was a blast and I felt great. ‘Can’t wait for the next one!
