How to live in rome by Aerisu

"Era stupendo."

How I did it: Find flat.  See flat.  Approve.  Pay rent.

Buy a street guide.  Walk everywhere.  Get on the Metro and ride the train to every stop.  Get on random buses and see where you end up 20 minutes later.  (If you are a student or can pass as a student, the monthly Metrebus card is ludicrously cheap.  It's still a deal even if you aren't a student.)

Lessons & tips: If you are trying to find a place in Italy while out of the country?  Never.  Ever.  Ever pay before seeing the flat with your own eyes.

Resources: http://www.easystanza.it and other such websites gave me good leads, but in the end I ended up finding the flat through a connection at school.

    Im living there for 7 months from June 2009 to December! I’m doing two different programs in Rome, one through my school for Fall 09, and the other for Latin over the summer. YAY! im so amped. I went to Italy the Summer of 07 and had an amazing time. Ive been studying classics for so long, I just cant wait.

    I visited it last year and the spirit of Italy has just stayed with me. I adore it :) I’ve even asked my boyfriend if we can eventually get married in Rome :) xx

    I want to move to Rome 3 years ago

    I want to pick up only the essentials of life one day, and move to Rome. I’m tired of seeing the same thing everyday. I’ve lived in New Jersey all of my life. You can only see so much so many times. I would love to get up one morning, pack one bag, and leave. I’ll figure the rest out when I get there.

    I visted Rome with some friends in about February I think, it was gourgous I loved the Wedding Cake (massive white building that celebrated the unification of Italy.) Plus lovely drinking coffee there. Its small but large and just beautiful, I love the language and the style, I would love a moped! Not sure I could conform to the immense skinnyness but I thinks that the only prob, everything else was just breathtaking. I reccomend it to everyone!
