oh yeah. im about to start my firs IB Diploma soon :P
How to survive I.B.
"It was difficult, stressful, and a lot of work, but I learned so much and my experiences are invaluable"
How I did it:
- Studied long, studied hard
- Drank a lot of coffee
- Turned in all my homework and finished my assignments
- Asked for help when I needed it
- Got to know my teachers and respected them, and in turn they valued and respected me as a student
- Made time for friends and a social life
- Never slept on the weekdays, had to catch up on the weekends
- Ate three meals a day. Breakfast is always important.
- Took interest in what I was learning. Interest motivates.
- Stayed a member of the marching. Music and exercise work wonders.
- Cried when I needed, but made time to laugh
- Believed in myself, my intelligence, my ability to work hard
- Collaborated with classmates
Lessons & tips:
- Find a good study strategy and use it. There's nothing worse than study habits that are inefficient. Procrastination is your worst enemy. Learn to avoid it. Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today.
- No matter how tough it seems, you can get through it. Ask your teachers for help, because they'll willingly give it. Nothing is more satisfactory for a teacher than seeing their students succeed. Ask your classmates for help. Find other activities to relax and relieve stress.
- Take advantage of it. Yeah, it's a lot of work, but think of how much you're getting out of it. Enjoy the books you read, the research you do. Realize that not every high school student has the opportunity to have such a strong, diverse education.
Resources: The library. Books are underrated.
