Update my driver's license

I am waiting to do this and to get my passport because my name is changing when I get married. My license expires next summer, so after I get married in February, I’ll get a new one and get my passport too.

of my change of address but they never even gave me a sticker or anything. I want to go to the DMV and just pay for a new license and get a new picture and have my new address printed on the card (not written on the back.) Even though I have proof of insurance in my car I’d feel better having the current license since every time there is a fire out here you need to show proof of address to have the cops let you through.

Apparently it’s illegal to not update the address on your driver’s license. Oops! In my defense, I didn’t think I was going to be living here all that long. Then, after a couple of years, I thought I’d better get round to it. I must have picked up forms a half-dozen times, but… you need photos. Yup, I’ll get those. As soon as I’m near a photobooth looking half-decent. Yup, soon. Any day now…!

Another couple of years later, and I finally kicked my aspidistra into gear. Forms – photo included! – are in the post. Huzzah!

The DOL had a one-minute wait time posted on their website, so I went ahead and did this. It took longer to get to the DOL than it did to actually get my address changed and a new picture taken. Now I just need to receive the new one in the mail.

I really am going to do this sometime this week. During lunch. I have the wait times bookmarked on my computer and everything. I don’t know why I’ve procrastinated on this for so long.

I think I’m going to do this either this weekend or next week.

My last license hadn’t been updated in 3 moves.

I am now the proud owner of a temporary Massachusettes Drivers License.

I should be getting my hard copy in the mail within 7-10 business days.  It's weird that they don't give you an actual hard copy right there anymore.  I guess it's for security reasons.   After all mail ALWAYS goes to the correct address, doesn't it? :P

I needed to update it, but it cost $13.13 to do so, and I haven’t even been pulled over or anything yet…so no use for it.
