    C.N.Y. opportunity  — 2 years ago

All of China is off for the new year holiday, this week, so there’ll be next to no incoming or outgoing mail, for me, all week. I need to take advantage of this chance to clean out my mailbox.

I erase all the useless e-mails, immediately, so what I have in my box, now, is all important stuff that needs to be properly archived – which means slow going. The oldest messages are from back in July, so it takes me a while to even remember what some of them mean before I can properly handle them. I’ll need to archive more than a thousand e-mails a day in order to finish, this week, but I don’t think I can possibly sort through more than 500 each day. I’m going to try, anyway. We’ll see how I do, I guess.

    新年好, anyway!

I just had a huge crash and lost my entire e-mailbox, earlier this year. I was pretty good about sorting and deleting everything, right away, for the first six or eight weeks, but now I’m back up to 1585 messages in my inbox and 2315 messages in my sent box. My mailer takes ages to load, every morning, and of course I have to sift through loads of messages before finding what I need. I’m almost wishing for another crash, just to get rid of all this. Maybe if this situation continues, it will result in another crash. I hope I get around to putting everything away neatly before I find that out!
