Unfortunately this needs to be added as a recurring goal, every month or so. Even after a week or so after a new install my system is already breaking.
Saving $$$ for a mac, but that’s another goal. :)

My system runs much faster and doesn’t crash. It has been dedicated for Industrial Design work in school, and my new iMac has taken over personal computing duties, and professional photography duties at home.

I automated the installation of Windows 95 OSR2, Windows 98SE, Windows 2000+SP4 and Windows XP SP2 to the point where all you have to do is insert a bootable floppy, the Windows kit CD from MSDN, and press Enter once.
Reinstalling Windoze is fun. You can do it to have a fresh start with your computer. Sort of like moving into a new house and unpacking only what you need. Will help you realize you had tons of junk installed.

KaliTime Camaralzman is drooling over Vladimir Kozlov. Hey, at least I'm honest...
I am so sick of having to install and reinstall this OS. As soon as I can, I am going to get an alternative for both this PC and the one I have coming.
If the professors at my school have a problem with non-windows application produced documents, then they’re just going to have to learn to deal with it.
I have done this today, but the guy at the lab installed the Hebrew edition of Windows which is unreadble for my hon. gonna reinstall it in English tommorow.
I wanted to resize my partitions yesterday, to get more free space to instal Linux on. Unfortunately, PartitionMagic didn’t complete the resize fully, thereby wrecking my Windows XP install. I’m just giving up on this ;)
it’s amazing how slowly windows starts running after even a few short months… how many random, unneeded registry values and crap get installed in there. things start breaking, but you put up with it untill you reach your breaking point (ie: the wonderful halflife of windows!).
actually, my harddrive was in the process of dying (got everything saved tho, woot!), so i got a new one, so i got to start over from a new format and clean install of windows. went ahead and reformatted my other (storage) drive as well so now everything is nice and speedy!! :)
Mostly I would like to install linux on it, and make a dual booting system. There are some things keeping me from doing it (E.g. some windows only programs). Will investigate more thoroughly this week, hopefully.
I think I backed up everything I needed to, like my favorites for IE and my playlists for MusicMatch. It will take awhile to restore certain favorites settings, but I anticipated some of those, too.
Unfortunately my most recent symptom, no sound, wasn’t solved, so that must be hardware, dammit.
I spent a fair amount of time going through my hard drive to determine what data I will need to move first. I learned where IE saves the favorites, and where MusicMatch puts the playlists. And I’ve convinced Dell to replace my reinstall CD. Any day now, victory shall be mine!
