    WOW 4 months ago

I can’t believe it’s been two years since my first entry. HAHA, I really have to pay off these fines!

A year already... 15 months ago

    And I still haven’t paid it D:
I wonder if the debt has gone up from 15 dollars…
    I’m so lame _

Its just $15!!!!! 2 years ago

Its only like 15 bucks I owe, but 15 bucks I dont have =\
What, with dental bills, rent, car payments, gas money, etc, etc, etc…...15 dollars is barely what I get left after paying all my bills.

This goal was ONLY worth doing to save my credit. If a collection agency hadn’t been involved, I wouldn’t have paid it and would have used my university’s library.

$90 gone, with nothing to show for it. The lady said the only way she could cut my fines was if I had a death in the family or some other true emergency which prevented me from returning the books… and then proceeded to say that I could pay it back in increments, but it would stay against my credit until the fine was fully paid back.

    Grrrrr. :(

I now owe more fines, although I paid off the ones that I was originally reffering to…I have discovered that I would rather spend the money on owning the book…

    I don’t want to do this!! :(

However, the library hired a collection agency, and now the fine is going against my credit (though I don’t even own a credit card…), meaning I’m completely screwed unless I pay it off.

My mom said to go in and try to haggle with them, you know, do the sob story of how I’m a poor college kid living off of Ramen noodles and see if they can cut me a deal. I’m really, really bad at haggling or anything of that sort (imagine Brian in MP’s The Life of Brian), so I’ll probably go through the whole story and end up still having to pay the entire fine, as well as having the librarian become annoyed with me. Or, I also might get really mad and storm away from the library and swear to never come back (I DO have the university library, after all…). Just a terrible scenario either way.

$90.00. Pshh. That’s enough money to buy me food for two months. :(

I never got a fine more than about $5 so it was never hard. I think I’m anal enough that I never would. I got a $70 fine on my video card because my sister borrowed it without asking and racked up the fines, and I wasn’t going to pay that back. After a year they wipe your account and you can open a new one with no record of it. At least, at this place they do.
