As a Phoenix RisingThe doctor said "you're loopy"

and my friend said “no, she’s pretty much always this way!”

hee hee hee 1 week ago

As a Phoenix RisingThe doctor said

something wasn’t “acute” and something else was “unremarkable”. I said “wow. I’m not cure OR remarkable. That’s pretty devastating.” He said, oh, you’re definitely cute.

Clearly, this was after 3 doses of pain killers had kicked in1 week ago

As a Phoenix RisingThe ER medical type guy that tended to me said

to my friend “are you her mother” i quickly introduced my FRIEND. She pointed out she is only a couple of years older than I am.

As he wheeled me down for a catscan he said “wow. I really put my foot in it. But you only look 27 and when I read your age I was like “wow, seriously?” I have seen 30 year olds that look older than you do!

(I think he’s just being kind, after all, it IS their job to make you feel better!) 1 week ago

As a Phoenix RisingYou command attention when you speak

and she went on to explain this and it was, indeed, a complement 2 weeks ago

As a Phoenix RisingLate in the day I decided to

stop doing the mind torturing problem solving I was doing and do something rather more mindless. Just doing, no thinking. I put on Pandora radio and sang along as I worked.

Someone stopped in my office door and I finished the line of the song as I looked up. She said “I was walking by and heard the voice of an angel. We have angels singing in here!”

=D How nice was that? 2 months ago

As a Phoenix RisingI received a very nice

and very long letter from the retired janitor today. It said tons of really nice things about me in it.

Its so nice to have made a difference in someones life. 2 months ago

As a Phoenix RisingMy nephew

emailed that he named a track after my street. =) how (silly) and nice is that?!

It’s so nice to be remembered. and thought of. can’t wait until there is a “lily belle” track to go with it.

I forgot I was supposed to design an album cover. Better add it to the list…. 2 months ago

As a Phoenix RisingAfter a communication exercise where I had to speak for three solid minutes

on anything while the other person was captivated minute 1, a bit distracted minute 3 and not at all listening minute 3 the person said in the critique

you speak very well.
you’re very engaging.
you’re very likable.

she said it was hard to not be interested in what i was saying minutes 2 and 3.

=D

It’s hecka hard to talk for 3 minutes on the spur of the moment when there isn’t a topic, just starting with an empty brain! 3 months ago

As a Phoenix RisingI like your shirt

thank you!

I think the ocean like swirls of whatever these little bead-ie things are make it pretty. 3 months ago

As a Phoenix RisingSeriously?

This goes under complements because its the only place it kinda sorta belongs.

” I like your bag”. ” where did you get that?”

Seriously. It’s the newest pick ip line in our area since stores no longer give out bags and we have to bring our own.

No two people have the same bags so its clever. But its silly because you couldn’t actually go buy the bag someone has. We just get them…. Anywhere. And very likely we’ve had some type of reuseable bag around the house.

Which wouldn’t make the response ” in My bedroom not entirely inappropriate! 3 months ago

As a Phoenix RisingYou have a Poet's mind

you think like a poet.

why… thank you! 3 months ago

As a Phoenix RisingThe Guy With Too Many Issues

and I met up for a movie this afternoon. It was a good movie. Silvers lining playbook. It was two hours and it made me smile and it made me laugh out loud.

in the theater he said he had bought me a ring. I asked what kind of ring. he said one with a design on it. that it didn’t have a diamond or anything. i said, with resounding enthusiasm, thank you for not getting me a diamond ring! and then we both laughed … a lot! (I meant it in the kindest way.)

After, we went to a mexican place for dinner. He drove me to my car and as I took off my seat belt he gave me the ring box. the ring is pewter with designs around each end. It was very thoughtful of him to give it to me. my Christmas present, he said.

I thought it was a very nice complement. I haven’t received a gift from a guy in this type of situation in a long time. Well… I guess since The Artist came me that cat painting in September, which means it hasn’t been very long at all. (!) 3 months ago

As a Phoenix RisingThe Actor

rang me up this evening, to be sure I arrived safely. He had me install Tango on my cell so we could video chat free. yay! free

He said, I can only see the wall, turn your phone around. someday I’ll get one of the new phones where you can see what your camera is looking at when it is pointed at your self. Ohmygod, you look so pretty! (ain’t he nice!)

thank you, I should be in such a hurry to literally bolt out the door in near fear after a shower that my wet hair is piled upon my head all day, so when i finally get to take it down luscious curls abound more often. not5 months ago

As a Phoenix Risingthe hotel clerk inquired about my earrings

I got them in Texas a few days ago.

As I turned to walk away she commented on my barrette.

It’s nice to receive complements. It’s also kinda weird to know some people study me. Although, I suppose I study others too! 6 months ago
