I’ve moved this item from the bottom to the top of my list. I have a personal training session at a Pilates studio this week and one next week. I hope it goes well.
How to try pilates
How I did it: I've actually wanted to do this for a long time and had it lingering on my 43 things list for a long while, too. I'm glad I finally commited to just doing it.
Lessons & tips: Get a few personal training sessions to learn how to use the reformer and how to do the exercises properly.

Try different instructors!!! A good instructor is key to your understanding, success and enjoyment of pilates. Pilates also takes a little time to understand. We become out of touch with our bodies and it seems very difficult at first, but a good instructor will help. I suggest some one on one instructor time before enrolling in a group class or trying a video. Give pilates a chance—you won’t regret it!
I’ve gone about 4 saturdays now. It’s an equipment class so we use the reformer and wunderchair. I enjoy it but GACK it hurts! It’s a good hurt, tho….
I’m in the mood to be the strongest me I can be and I feel adventurous so I want to try something new and I like the structure of a class. Let’s do it!
Hazelnutnut is a romantic tree hugging self knower.
Not the same as a class but good enough for now.
But I enjoyed the class anyway… now I just have to work on getting better at it. Who knew my abs could hurt that much.
