memorize the bible

I love God and I want to memorize his word.

God’s been revealing a lot to me through his Word lately. And remembering verses is going really well.

I like to know the Bible because His Word is like the Armor of God—it helps me battle the dark powers of the supernatural realm. Good luck to all of you.

For Quite A While, I’ve wanted to memorize the bible. Do I have any more of it down then the average knowledgable-on-the bible person? Not really.

I remember in middle school (6th, 7th, and 8th grade my parents sent me to a private school, a Christian school-no particularly religious denomination. My family was Presbyterian. Before that had been Methodist. Before that had been, I think. . .Presbyterian) the Bible teacher-my favorite teacher, loved his classes—told us a story in college about a student in a class he took. The professor said if anybody memorized the entire bible that semester. . .they had an automatic A. Little did the professor know that in their midst was one of those people who DO have the entire bible memorized. So a couple days later he and the professor sat down. . .showed he knew the bible. . .got an A. Didn’t have to do any work for the semester.

Anyway, I think alot of the bible is outdated, sexist. . .still, it’s something I’d like to know. Why? Well I’d also like to have memorized dictionaries. Have spent countless hours going through trying—not much luck yet, but I’ll keep at it till I do so. Why? What’s so fascinating? Isn’t there better/funner things I could do with my time? I suppose. I want to. . .just because.

It’s an obsession. And an obsession is a dangerous thing to interfere with. Don’t you Try.

It is my goal to put chapters of the bible to music so that I and others can memorize it easily.

I am also looking for systems of memory to better store information.
