"I did it?"
How I did it: It was a rather slow start, but I persisted. And dang, persistence actually got me some where! Who would have know? (Most of the steps I took to actually write it are in the Lessons & Tips section).
Lessons & tips: Persist. Don't let anybody tell you, "you can't". Because you can.
Trust in yourself to finish it, but don't overwhelm yourself with everything. Take it slow, but write at least once a day.
Set goals for yourself. Write at least one sentence a day. I, personally, tried to write at the very least, 500 words a day. A novel by definition is 50,000 words, so it would only take 100 days (and that's if you're doing the minimum each day, mind you)!
Have fun! No fun = no desire to write = no novel. I don't care any arguments anyone has, but if you're not having fun with it, you're not going to want to write it. Even if by some sheer miracle you do finish it, I'm sure you won't be that thrilled.
Resources: My family, God, teachers, and friends. Google pitched in it's fair share of help when it came to research as well.
