I am in love with french. I took it for a couple of years, and now that I’m on a break from school I’m worried that I will lose all my progress. I would love to be fluent in french someday. It’s such an amazing language. I feel like it’s more in tune with my mind than english…if that makes ANY sense.
How to learn to speak fluent French
How I did it: Learning to talk is easy for a child, but french is hard to learn... I understand that some people have difficulties with it, but it is a beautiful language.
Lessons & tips: Chat a lot in french, have french pen pals, practice a lot.
Resources: My parents...

I love everything, I mean EVERYTHING, about France. The culture, the people, the land, the ideals and most especially the language. I love languages in general, so ultimately, I’d like to conquer not only French, but also Italian and maybe Russian….

To a French learner, it can seem like there are new French expressions lurking everywhere you turn, just waiting to trip you up. Some expressions are relatively easy to figure out, but others are figurative or idiomatic, which makes things a lot harder. In this weekly feature, Laura K. Lawless discusses French expressions that defy comprehension at first glance.
