teach myself c++

Compiled my first program in Visual C++ just now!!
Quite a learning a curve to that program.

I’m coming from scripting languages like HTML, MEL, PERL, JaveScript…..no IDEs to deal with. Just scripts and “compilers”.

Hello world. Here comes the fun!

So I became tired of waiting for my boyfriend to let me use his ACM membership to gain access to all the O’Riely Books on line.

I bought my own membership:) Turns out they are partners with Netg training services! I enrolled, and am now taking a course in C++!!

Was pretty exciting. I had no idea this morning how this goal was going to be attained and now I’m taking a class.

Busy(and rewarding)days ahead!!!

C++ seems like the harley of the nerd world.
This goal is a sub goal of creating a some remote capture software for my digital camera.

There are lots of remote capture softwares already out there, but I believe there is some merit in learning how to interact with things using a computer interface. Unlocks a whole new world of possibilities!!!!!

We will see where this leads:)
My boyfriend has a ACM membership and I hear that ACM memebers have access to ALL the O’Reilly books!
