teach adult literacy

It took me three months, but I finally have my ESL training complete and a student I’m working with twice a week.

We’ve had two sessions so far – and I now realize the training will never cease. Never having taught before, it’s really by trial and error that Amina and I work out the lesson plans.

That’s what I’ll be doing. Next step – training next week and selecting my student.

Went to their volunteer orientation last night. There are so many different positions! I can’t decide what interests me most, but am a bit reticent about committing for a full year. What about travel?

Adult Basic Education
Tutoring in Jails
Citizenship Training
ESL Tutoring

They also need high school level math tutors, but that’s not something I feel qualified for!
