How I did it: I signed up online in the UK at http://www.organdonation.nhs.uk/ it's extremely straightforward to fill out your details and once you click 'register' they match up your details (name, date of birth, address, etc.) with your NHS number to either add you to the donor list or amend pre-existing details. I didn’t know this, but to be an organ donor in British Columbia you have to register online with the BC Transplant. So, today I registered to donate all my organs and tissue. “For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.” 12 months ago

When I went to re-register at my hometown surgery, there was an option on the form to become an organ donor. Now, I’d agreed to this over a year ago when I registered in Liverpool, but since I never had any contact about it, I just thought it hadn’t been received or whatever. I asked the guy on reception and he said they won’t get back to you, so basically I completed this goal ages ago and didn’t realise! I agreed to donate any organ or tissue, some people are a bit funny about donating certain body parts (my friend will not donate his corneas) but the way I see it, I won’t need any of it when I’m dead :) 12 months ago
