I asked my brother to dig my bike out and he did. He also checked it for me. He says its fine. Apparently, though, they took the bike rack out of the dormitory that I live in now. The dorms that I will be moving to in about a month definitely has a bike rack.
My fiance and I went to the store and bought a bike for her. We bought bike locks and a light. She got the bike light home, started setting it up, and realized that it only had two settings when it was supposed to have four. She wasn’t going to worry about it, though, and went to go take her new toy for a ride. The gears popped less than 100 yards away from where she stared. She fixed it and the gears broke again, so when you peddled nothing happened. Needless to say the next day we brought it back to the store. We decided to wait until we move to the other building before buying a bike again. In the meantime, we’ve been looking on craigslist and freecycle for a bike for her. We’re trying, though!

I cannot ride my bike when it is buried in my parent’s garage and not here at college with me. I need to get it out of there and make sure it is still in good condition (check tires, breaks, corrosion, etc.) and then I can bring it up to college as long as I buy a bike chain. Our campus has bike racks in the basement of both dormitories but as safe as I feel here I don’t know if I would leave my bike just sitting there unsecured.
My fiance wants to get a bike as well. This paycheck we got more money then we planned on and she just received a raise from her other job so hopefully before the summer ends we will be able to buy her one. Then I will be even more motivated to get my bike here so we can go riding together! _

or at least tapering back.
For the first part, I found that I’ve actually gained 5 pounds, something I didn’t anticipate (or need). And second, I did get up to 60 mintues on the bike, but it got really hard getting up that early, and took time away from other things I needed to do in the morning.
Sooo … I’m hoping to get back to 45 minutes a day, and maybe keeping a tighter eye on what I’m eating …

starting today. 60 minutes, at least 5 times a week, on the exercise bike. It’s really not as hard as I’d thought it would be. Haven’t seen any weight loss yet, and some mornings it’s really hard to drag myself out of bed. But I am enjoying it.

First of all, I’m up to riding 40 minutes most days on the stationary bike. I’m headed toward 55 minutes, & should achieve that in about 3 weeks.
My husband was always an avid bike rider. It was nothing for him to hop on his bike and ride 20 miles (one way) to come out and visit me. But in recent years his biking has fallen by the wayside. Marriage, a kid, added responsibilities seem to have gotten in the way. His bike, too, was older, and it was getting harder to find parts for it.
Flash to last week, when someone posted a new bike for sale on Cheapcycle for a seriously-low price. It isn’t as sleek as the old one and will take some getting used to. But it now has the old bike’s seat and other accoutrements, and has been test-ridden, with positive results (and a smile on his face).
Now all we have to do is get the kid – and me – on our bikes, and we’ll be ready to ride as a family!

I’m up to 25 minutes a day now, and not feeling too bad. I’ve read that if you can exercise for 55 minutes 5 days a week, you can both lose weight and maintain the weight loss. That’s where I’m headed.
Also, it makes me feel good … :-D

It’s pollen season, so I’m staying inside for now on the exercise. I read recently that the optimal weight loss/maintenance goal is 55 minutes, 5 days a week. I’m planning on adding 5 minutes a week, and hope to hit that goal by the end of May.
Hoping for good things …

The trouble is about riding my bike is that if I think I need exercise I take my dogs out and never get fit with my bike. I really need to sort it out, oil chain, pump up tyres etc and instead of driving to see friends or go to the shop, I should go on my bike. I can’t ride with my dogs as there’s too much traffic. Any ideas!?

Soon as I shake my sniffles I can’t wait to do this—even if it’s just on the exercise bike!
