So I’m doing quite well with this lately. Back in January, I made it a goal to journal everyday. We are into April now, and while I sometimes wait until the following day to journal about the previous one…I’m still writing about it. I finally finished off a journal that I wrote on and off in from 2006 until now!
I recently bought a new one and have been using it a lot! I make to-do lists, drawings, entries based on writing prompts, and just about everything else. I think this is finally becoming a habit!

I tried to get in the habit of writing everyday but I just never stuck to it. I really want to keep writing to help me remember things and jsut let it all out. Plus I’ll gets some laughs out of it when I’m older.

So I used to write in my journal a lot, mostly about stupid middle school stuff. Then as I got older, I attempted to write fantasy stories. LOL. Looking back, they were horrible. Then I started writing a lot of poetry. Some of it was pretty good. Then I sort-of went to random freewrites with poems and lyrics on occasion.
Then the craziness of senior year (and now college) got to me and I’m not writing as much as I used to. I find this really sad. I’ve been getting better again but I’m making this a goal because maybe then I’ll stick to it. :D

Journaling is relieves my stress. I love it. I write about everyhing good, bad, funny, exciting, or just down right stuipd that has happended to me. I would love to make it a daily activity, right now I only journal with somethin big happens in my life. I would recommend that if you don’t have a journal you please go get one. I have about 2 full journals and one half way full. This is something that someone will read one day and laugh at, cry with, and just relate to.

Coming along

I’ve had quite a bit of free time lately, so journaling almost daily is not hard to do. It’s like free therapy, though I’m not really thrilled with some of the things I am having to face. It has been worth it so far, but I guess it is a bit of a double-edged sword.

I’d like to start writing in my journal about twice a week.

Okay – so I said I was going to journal everyday for a week. So didn’t work! Journaling is important to me, but I read somewhere that the times I don’t write are just as important as the times I do write. Whatever is going on in my life, I manage to find time to write when I need to. Lately, I’ve been writing earlier in the day – during my lunch break at work. I sit outside in the shade on the benches near my building, and with the limited time I find that I write more. I keep my pen moving and it’s just a good time. So, I am definitely journaling more…it’s just not happening the way I planned :o)

So, I wrote in my journal both yesterday and Tuesday. I have 3 journals that I regularly write in…one is my “everyday” journal, where I discuss what I’m thinking, how I’m feeling and what’s going on with me. Another is my 5-year journal, in which I write a 1 to 2 sentences summarizing my day. And the last is my spiritual/prayer journal, where I write down what I’m learning as I read and study my Bible. That sounds like a lot, but writing is one of my favorite things, so it’s more of a comfort than a chore.
Anyway, yesterday, I didn’t write in my “everyday” journal, but I did write in my prayer journal. A part of be feels like I’m cheating, but the goal is to journal more and that’s what I’m doing…
{Right?}

I love to journal.
I wrote a bit in middle school and high school, but I didn’t really become consistent until I was 18. Love to look back on the things that I’ve written, to see how far I’ve come…and to get a good laugh.
Although I still write in my journal, lately I’ve been kind of lax. Writing in my journal has been so helpful…writing things down helps me to get it all “out”...and I find that when there long gaps in between entries, I feel that something is missing or not quite right.
So I want to make more time to journal more. Starting today, I’m going to make time to write. The goal is to write everyday for a week.
So, here goes…
