My tongue can’t move much or well and I think it’s cuz of that silly web…
How to get a tongue frenectomy
How I did it: I went to an oral surgeon and got a tongue frenectomy at the same time as I got four wisdom teeth out. It was pretty intense because the wisdom teeth were not half as bad as the pain from the frenectomy. I'm still healing but I can already feel that my tongue has more movement... and it's such a relief!
Lessons & tips: Just do it! See if your insurance covers it. If youre tongue-tied, your dental insurance should pay for it... but only if you have a problem. If youre only getting it for a tongue piercing or for oral sex... dont say it! Say that your tongueweb gets stuck between your bottom teeth when you eat or that it hurts you when you talk and it restricts your speech. It might be more difficult to convince them if youre in your 30's and it's never been a problem.
Resources: I googled reasons why people get tongue frenectomies and the recovery process. Good luck!
