So for as long as I can remember I didn’t want to sleep on purpose or nap because I didn’t want to “sleep my life away” when there were so many other great things to do with my spare time. I never understood those people who sleep as long as possible on Sunday morning. Typically it makes me feel worse and more sluggish when I get too much sleep. Well…..
Yesterday I went to bed at 9:30 pm. Yep, 9:30 pm. And I told myself it was okay. I need rest sometimes and I no longer feel as if it’s a waste of time. Am I a waste? Is my health a waste of time? Does feeling better waste my time. No. Then why feel guilty that the dishwasher isn’t unloaded? I’m done with feeling that way and starting to enjoy my life and that will include more naps and going to bed early when the feeling hits me.

It was nice. Refreshing. I really DO need to do this more.

Does falling asleep in front of the TV at night count? If so, I’ve got this goal nailed. If not, maybe I should start turning in a bit earlier. :)

and I’m not giving it back.
What’s odd is that today is Saturday. When I was working fulltime, I wouldn’t think of giving up a couple of hours of my weekend for a siesta, no matter how tired I was. Too much to do, too little time. It felt good to just give in to the urge.
Initially, I was going to lay down only for an hour, but when I saw the clock at half past two, I decided to slip back into dreamland. Very refreshing. In fact, it was so nice, I have decided to (yawn) adopt this goal.

There are a lot of things I should be doing, but nothing that can’t wait thirty minutes!

I had to complete this goal. I herniated a disc in my lower back (lumbar region) and it’s pinching a nerve. My foot has gone numb and it’s pretty painful, so I’ve been hard at work making a permanent dent in my likeness on the couch. The pain medications that I was given make me pretty tired, so nap I did. In fact, I feel a nap coming on very soon.

I usually have something me and my mom call my “4-o’clock-crash” – often avoided with caffeine or food. But lately I’ve been taking some pretty long naps mid-afternoon or evening… I’ll decide to rest for a little bit, then wake up around 4 hours later. Naps are great. Especially when you have nothing to do so you can wake up feeling free.

it is utterly impossible for me to take a nap.
i get all nervous and a million thoughts go through my head and then it cannot happen.
i took one nap this past month, it was in the daytime too, which is rare, and now it is back to normal- i can’t stop thinking and just
relax.

Taking naps is so great. I got another good 2 hours in after work today. It’s kinda sad that I have 2 extra hours just to sleep but I feel great so I don’t care! I marking this bad boy done!
