I’m currently trying my hardest to get a few bills paid off and save for my niece’s graduation present. After these two things have been conquered, I’ll have the extra money for lessons and the renting of a violin. I will also have a little more free time for practicing. I’m thinking maybe the first of June…

I have had her phone number for about two months. I don’t know if she gives lessons or not. What am I waiting for?!?

TinaTardigrade is trying to be productive & listening to animal collective of course
on my first attempt to tune my new violin a string snapped. which was odd, seeing as the note was still lower than it was supposed to be by a bit (you would think tight enough to snap in your face would be a really high note). it makes me think the violin was refurbished and not new. oh well. have to put this goal on hold until i go in and fix the string which i will probably do sometime this week i hope.

i played the violin for 3 years when i was in jr.high. i was good enough to be first chair for the first 2 years. the 3rd year i was an angst-ridden teenager, with my first real boyfriend whom i was forbidden to see when my parents discovered the intimate nature of our relationship. although i couldnt see him outside of school, i did have him in my orchestra class, where he played the bass. i took to spending my time in class writing passionate back-and-forth letters about running away and starting up a life in some imaginary town that allowed 13-year-olds to marry, my instrument abandoned. when i started high school after abandoning the boy, i broke my mothers heart by refusing to continue playing the violin. i wanted to be in a rock band and couldnt see how the violin had anything to do with that. now, of course, i want to be in a bluegrass band playing the fiddle. my mother just got me a violin and i am contenting myself with relearning the notes and musical terms. when i have accomplished this i will sign up for lessons.

Violin Lessons
I took violin lessons briefly during high school, but I was unable to make time to practice and utilize the lessons because of the high stress and work load from school. I love the instrument, though, and I still want to learn to play it properly. Once I start making money (I’m in the process of finding a job), one of my top priorities will be to find a good violin teacher in the area.

I played the violin from the age of 7, and then stopped aged about 16! Only in the last 2 years have I really started again and have enjoyed it more than ever, so best of luck to you!
Also, please point me in the direction of all string digging chicks ! ;)

I recently found a beautiful, beautiful red sunburst violin that I didn’t know I had. It’s time to put it into good use.

I got a violin for Christmas from my grandma. So I figure I should take lessons.. also it seems as though chicks dig the strings. Well I’ve learned how to tune it.. I’m on my way.
