Not speak until spoken to for 24 hours

Ooh, this looks interesting. I think I’ll try this tomorrow c:

it would be so cool to see what would happen if you only spoke when spoken to. just see an experiment, what people would think if i just stopped talking. listened more.

I’m starting this tomorrow. If I can manage it, I might try it for longer periods of time. I’m not going to speak, text, call, email, write, or sign to anyone unless they initiate the conversation. This is going to be difficult because I text and email a LOT. Wish me luck. : )

Forgot all about it on the 9th! How did that creep up so fast? Gotta find another day…this coming Sunday I can’t (Christmas concert). Hmm. I think it will have to wait for the new year.

I am going to target Sunday, December 9 as I teach (a language!) on Saturdays and it would be too impractical at work M-F. I am going to include not being able to send emails or other electronic messages, and communicate in writing as little as possible. I’m also not going to initiate phone calls (as the answerer usually speaks first, I could claim I had been spoken to and go to town). I’m going to respond politely to people if I am spoken to, but not initiate or encourage ongoing meaningless conversation. I wish it were more practical for me to take it longer than 24 hours….

Is this literally just not speaking, or can you not text or email someone unless they write first too?

This is a goal that I do everyday. Well nearly everyday… I dont know if its worth it or if its isnt so yeh…
