Doing the Appalachian Trail in 2010, the Pacific Crest Trail in 2011, and the Continental Divide in 2012. If anyone is interested in doing any of these in the given years hit me up at Razortceps@yahoo.com and title the subject of your email “43 things Hike” so I dont throw it in the trash.

I want to Hike the Triple Crown.
Pacific Crest Trail: 2663 miles
Continental Divide Trail: 3000+ miles
Appalachian Trail: 2000 miles
But I still think this’d be a cool and fun goal to hike at least a decent portion of all 3 of these trails sometime in my lifetime. I’ve hiked portions of the Appalachian Trail before(in Virginia and Tennessee(not sure which states but I’m pretty certain it was these 2, when I was young). I’ve never heard of the Pacific Coast Trail or the Continental Divide Trial before now(I guess that’s what’ll naturally happen to you if you live east of the Mississippi, lol!!), but I’d like to read up on what these 2 trails are like. What states do the PCT and the Continental Divide trail go through? In addition, what would be the best times to hike these 2 western trails? (I’ve read up a decent bit on the Appalachian Trail, but know little about these other 2 trails and would appreciate any advice on them)
Keep in mind I’m NOT interested in hiking the entire length of any of these 3 trails, I just want to hike a decent portion of each of these trails sometime in my lifetime. Thanks y’all for any advice you can give me on these trails.
I hiked the AT in 1999 and the PCT in 2002, but the CDT has eluded me. Grad school, jobs, money, getting married, family stuff, moving two times…well it all makes for new experiences and memories. But since I met my husband on the AT and we spent our honeymoon on the PCT, I really hope someday we can do the triple crown. The goal after that…to set up a hiker hostel/B&B on one of the long-distance trails. But that’s another entry.
Cross Country
I also want to ride my bicycle across North America. I’ve been across Canada twice on the ViaRail train, and about 15 times across the U.S. on Amtrak. I’ve driven across both the U.S. and Canada dozens and dozens of times. I just like to keep moving along. I’ve done bits and pieces of the AT and PCT. I’ve done a lot of hiking in Olympic National Park, in Washington State. I’ve done some backpacking in Australia, Japan, France, England. I’ve been on the Trans-Siberian Rails. I’m just not ready to commit to months of hiking, far from home… yet. I have to admit, I am a little intimidated by all those miles on foot alone, with resources scattered. I read, A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson. I know what happened to him! =)
Well I kinda started this, I have done about 800+ miles of the Appalachian Trail, why did I not finish? My hiking partner turned into my life partner and I got a fiancee out of it, soon to be my wife..
We plan on doing the whole trail again sometime in the future
