become a ruby guru

i really want to become ruby guru.why not!! but it is a long road ahead.i just start learning ruby.i not yet touch on ruby on rails yet.

I have been in the IT world in a data capacity forseveral years now, but have not actually learned how to use a languagte to do thing I need. I am now taking the bull by the horns, so to speak, & getting a good web language down, so I can create my own tools, & not have to wait on an internal developer to do it for me. ROR looks like the key to this, as it supposed to be quite easy. I have done the rolling on rails tutorial, & am pleasantly suprised. We use MySQL exclusively, so this should fly.

I know ruby quite well. I am proud to say I’m able to help others learn. But I honestly will never know when to click “I’ve done this”

What makes one a guru? I don’t really know.
So that’s why I’m giving up on this goal

I’m not giving up on mastering Ruby, of course :)

I have done this. Have a fair idea of ruby and rails by playing with it. Ruby is like that game of blocks. Keep connecting
and you come up with beauties :-)

Next i intend to write 3 apps on RoR ::: the current java app that i enhance/maintian (yikes), a home brew expense tracker and my own blog (yep there are so many out there) but blogs like testing frameworks need to be self harvested.

Next is using ruby, rake etc etc at every given opp. And read and write as much ruby code as one can :-)

Doing all this can I become a ruby committer? iF yes then i can become a ruby guru.
